FRIED ONION on the Academy of Natural Sciences
“The
Academy of Natural Sciences was my favorite museum as a
kid and it’s my favorite
museum today. Where else in Philadelphia can you find a huge
collection of dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures, or
walk through a room filled with hundreds of live butterflies?
Kids love the stuffed animals and birds, and they love getting
a chance to see – and sometimes touch – a wide
variety of living creatures too. The building is well maintained
and the staff is courteous and knowledgeable. Oh yes, and how
could I forget those two mummies on the Second Floor – they
both died more than 2,000 years before the last time a Philly
team won a sports championship. Now THAT’S old!”
