SOUTH FILLIE on the Franklin Institute
“What
do my grandparents, parents, siblings, cousins, and all true
Philadelphians have in common (besides a love
of cheesesteaks)? I’ll tell you what – as kids,
we all took that 10-foot ride on ‘Old 60,000’,
the giant locomotive at the Franklin
Institute.
In fact, I’m taking my nieces and nephews there next
week. The Franklin Institute is a cross between a museum and
an indoor amusement park. You learn a lot about science and
have fun doing it – from walking through the giant
heart,
to seeing the airplane, boat and old bicycle collections, to
enjoying shows at the Fels Planetarium and the Tuttleman IMAX
Theater. And who needs Dave & Buster’s or ESPN Zone
when you can play interactive sports games all day for free
at the Sports Challenge exhibit?”
