MAMA'S
PIZZERIA
|
| |
Mama’s
Pizzeria / Belmont Steaks
426
Belmont Avenue, Bala Cynwyd / (610) 664-4757
|
The
WHIZ KIDS have nothing but kind words for their beloved “Mama”:
|
|
OZZARD
OF WHIZ: “This place is aptly named – Mama’s
delectable cheese steak, smothered and literally overflowing
with juicy beef, tasty cheese and onions, is one big ‘Mama’ and
could well be the ‘Mother’ of All Cheese Steaks.
You can’t call yourself a true Whiz Kid until you’ve
experienced a Mama’s cheese steak.” |
| |
|
|
|
SOUTH
FILLIE: “The street address is Bala Cynwyd (try pronouncing
that!), but Mama’s is just up the road from Belmont
Hills – the South Philly of the Main Line. Those ‘Natural
Born Hillers’ know their cheese steaks, and Mama’s
makes an awesome one. It’s big and it’s beautiful.
It’s as good as a cheese steak can get.” |
| |
|
|
|
HALF
WIT’: “I wouldn’t exactly call this pizzeria
the Main Line. It’s on the edge of a hill above railroad
tracks and next door to a cemetery. But it’s not
your typical steak place either. Mama’s has a full
dining room with pink recessed lights, tiffany chandeliers,
and a tablecloth and vase (containing artificial flowers)
at every table.” |
| |
|
|
|
SON
OF SWOOP: “If I gotta head out past City Avenue and
pay $2 more than normal for a cheese steak, that steak
better be freakin’ perfect. And Mama’s cheese
steak IS perfect – the $2 covers plenty of extra
meat, cheese and onions, piled on top of that roll like
the Eagles’ defensive line piled on top of Eli Manning.” |
