TALK
OF THE TOWN
|
| |
The
WHIZ KIDS talk up Talk of the Town:
|
|
FRIED
ONION: “Scrunched in between a gas station and the
I-76 overpass on South Broad Street, TOTT is hardly a pretty
sight. But it’s what’s inside that counts.
The place is a miniature Philadelphia pro sports shrine,
and the cheese steaks – with thick-sliced rib eye
packed into a tasty Italian roll – are superb.” |
| |
|
|
|
SON
OF SWOOP: “Donovan McNabb told ESPN Gameday that
TOTT is his favorite spot in Philly. If it’s good
enough for my man Donovan, it’s good enough for me.
TOTT rules! I totally understand why Donovan sometimes
loses his lunch during road games. I would too – the
steak places in those other cities suck!” |

|
|
|
GRETA
NORTHEAST: “Before or after a ballgame or concert,
TOTT is the place to go. And not just for those mouth-watering
cheese steaks. Chicken steaks, roast pork sandwiches, hoagies – you
name it, TOTT’s got it. They even have pretty good
broccoli rabe and sautéed spinach for health-conscious
veggie lovers.” |
| |
|
|
|
SOUTH
FILLIE: “One of my cousins lives near TOTT, just
off Bigler Street. In summer, we go there for steaks, and
then walk to the Phillies game. In the fall, the whole
family comes over to watch the Eagles on TV, and TOTT delivers
a giant cheese steak party platter to the house at game
time. WOO-HOO! Life is good!” |
